HR Practitioners Corner
General HR
CA A.B. 1825 can affect employers outside California. Employers in California with 50 or more employees (including contract employees) are subject to providing sexual harassment prevention training to supervisors. The bill also extends to supervisors who work in California but whose company is located outside the state.
The Fair Employment and Housing Commission (FEHC) is the state agency responsible for regulating and implementing the provisions for AB 1825. It is crucial for employers and human resources professionals to understand and comply with A.B. 1825 to the letter.
NRG HR has the experience to assist with A.B. 1825 compliance, including supervisory training. Contact us - we are here to help you!
Human Resources Continuing Education, HR Certification, SHRM Membership
It is vital to the profession of human resources that H.R. practitioners at every level have appropriate education and certification. Numerous colleges around the country recognize the need and offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in Human Resources Management; many colleges also offer certification in human resources.
The Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) also offers professional certification: PHR (Professional, Human Resources); SPHR (Senior Professional, Human Resources); GPHR (Global Professional, Human Resources) and offers certification specific to some states (i.e. CAPHR). The SHRM designation shows your knowledge, expertise and commitment to the profession of Human Resources and many employers require such designation in their Human Resources staff.
To fine out more about the SHRM certification, go to www.shrm.org and click on education. Dont delay - its your career!
