WHAT'S NEW
D.I.S.C. Training Available Through NRG HR Consulting
NRG HR Consulting has certified D.I.S.C. trainers on staff. If you have ever wondered why you do (or don't) get along with someone, D.I.S.C. training can help shed some light based on the style you have; how recognize style differences in others; and how to adapt or establish new ways of relating and communicating.
Do you know your management style? Do you know the management style of others? Do others know YOUR management style? If you cannot answer yes to all these questions, then you might be noticing these symptoms within your organization, senior executive team, or critical work teams:
- Conflict: Arguing, blaming, missed deadlines, finger-pointing.
- Lack of direction/lack of productivity: Lack of assertiveness, no set deadlines, project drift, low energy or low motivation.
- Inefficient processes: Reluctance to change. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Fear of being replaced.
These three “Points of Pain” can cost companies thousands of dollars in real and hidden costs. D.I.S.C. assessments can help sort it all out and get you, your company and your teams back on track. What is D.I.S.C.? A D.I.S.C. assessment is a non-critical tool for understanding behavioral types and styles. It is designed to help people explore behavior types so they can better understand themselves and others. Interesting to learn about and simple to implement, D.I.S.C. assessments can help explain individual and team behaviors and establish new ways of communicating within an organization (or anywhere!). In addition, D.I.S.C. is also a great management development or team building tool because D.I.S.C. helps each person understand his or her unique interpersonal style, as well as overcome blind spots and weaknesses that may be hindering career advancement.
4 Primary Behavioral Dimensions
Each person's D.I.S.C. profile is based on the combination of these four primary behavioral dimensions:
- Dominant: Direct, driver and decisive, D's are strong-minded, aggressive, strong-willed people who enjoy challenges, taking action, and immediate results.
- Interactive: Social, optimistic and outgoing, I's are people people who prefer participating on teams, sharing ideas, entertaining and energizing others. They like to gain consensus.
- Steady: Stable, sympathetic and cooperative, S's tend to be helpful team players. They prefer being behind the scenes, working in consistent and predictable ways. They don't like rapid change and they avoid conflict. They are good listeners.
- Compliant: This style can also be thought of as Conscientious. C's are concerned, cautious and correct. They usually plan ahead, constantly check for accuracy and use systematic approaches.
D.I.S.C. training can help take your company to the next level of employee development and overall growth. The labor market is still tight, and preparing your employees for internal success - while providing personal enrichment - is one of the best investments you can make.
